This unique cottage is situated on the hillside behind the town of Stromness, and has magnificent views over the town and harbour, and beyond to Scapa Flow and the hills of Hoy. The view of the ferries provides endless fascination and the wonderful light is unforgettable.

How to find us

By car from the ferry terminal, Stromness

Leave the ferry and turn RIGHT along Ferry Road. Take the first LEFT at the roundabout and double back into Stromness. Pass ‘Blue Star’ garage and take the next RIGHT up Back Road.

Camusbeag is on the LEFT, just as the brow of the hill, immediately before signs for the Car Park in the old Stromness Academy. Stop at the top of the drive and walk down to Bea House – we will tell you where to park.

On foot from the Pierhead, Stromness

Walk up Bank Lane (beside the Royal Bank) and through the large wrought iron gates facing you at the top of the lane. This takes you into our garden – walk up the path and you will come to Bea House.

By bus

From Kirkwall to Stromness is about 17 miles, and there is a regular bus service between the towns.

You can find all the current bus time tables on the Orkney Islands Council website.

We look forward to welcoming you to Stromness, and to Camusbeag.
